A. They are really quite low but if you intend to not lag out the a** while searching then you need a decent computer. My moms laptop with 2 GB of RAM and a 2 GHz processor seems to do fine. If you are referring to what hardware... Phone line Modem Phone cord Network interface card Computer Monitor Mouse Keyboard If you want to connect via a cable or dsl... Cable subscription Modem Router (if more then one computer) 8P8C cable (also known as RJ45) Network interface card Computer Monitor Mouse Keyboard Also the with the keyboard and mouse you really only need one or the other. If you just had a mouse you can enable an on screen keyboard. If you had a keyboard you could use TAB to switch through different options etc.

A. You'll need cash for a deposit and the first month's rent. Usually, a landlord will charge you a month's rent as a deposit. So, you'll need to come up with at least two months' rent in advance. You'll also need money to set up utility, phone, and cable/satellite accounts. You'll also need furniture, household goods (dishes, flatware, bedding, cleaning supplies, etc.), toiletries, etc. And, you'll have to figure out how you're going to do your laundry (if no in-unit or in-complex laundry is available, you'll need to budget time and money to go to the laundromat). You'll also want to get your tax returns ready to verify your income. And, you usually have to pay to apply for a rental (they have to check your credit report). If you have or… [cont.]

What are the requirements if you want to sell your hair/ donate to charity?
Q. I have very thick hair that's never been dyed and is unusual color, and was curious what the requirements, such as length, are and how much I might get for it. I would also love the requirements for charity, so that I can donate half and sell half. Thanks!

A. It's so wonderful that you want to donate your hair! Most hair donation charities are willing to accept chemically treated hair so long as it meets the length requirement. I suggest you contact a few chair ties and ask them about their requirements. Here are a few sites: www.locksoflove.org/

What are the requirements for someone with a college degree to be admitted to Navy OCS?
Q. Do they consider college GPA? Are letters of recommendation required? What are the physical requirements? Are you required to enlist before application to the Navy OCS is submitted and rejected/accepted? Are there height and weight requirements? How soon after enlisting do you actually go to Boot Camp/OCS?
Asked by Mister M - Tue Oct 20 23:32:18 2009 - - 4 Answers - 0 Comments

A. Yes, your college GPA is definitely considered, as is your major and college. Ignore the people who say non-tech degrees are not competitive--that's a myth. At least half of my OCS class were non-tech majors. The application requires three letters of recommendations from either employers or professors or other people who can attest to your leadership ability. Other things that will make you competitive: leadership roles, community service, foreign languages, interviews with current officers from the community you're applying to. You are not required to enlist. If you are not BDCP or NUPOC (i.e. if you didn't take money for college), you owe nothing to the Navy and can drop from the process at any time -- even week 11 at OCS if you want (al [cont.]

What are the requirements for becoming a math Professor at a college or university?
Q. I am a little confused. I tried reading some other answers to similar questions, but I still don't understand. I want to become a math professor at a college or university, and I need to know if I should stop at a masters or keep going for a Ph.d. I know that the requirements change from college to college, but I just want the generalization. Also, what about a biology professor? The same requirements or different? Does anyone know what would be a better field to get a job in? I am torn between the two. Thanks in advance.

A. At the community college where I work, you need a master's degree to adjunct (teach part-time with pitiful benefits and no job security). You can get a full-time position in some departments with a masters (Art/Photography or Nursing, for example), but in most departments, you need a PhD or at least to be ABD (All But Dissertation) to be seriously considered for a full-time tenure-track position. While individual insitutions may vary in their expectations, it's a given that your options will be much more limited with only a masters. I don't think anyone can tell you whether math or bio is a better field. I think that rather than trying to predict the vagaries of a field for the next 30 or 40 years, you'd be better off pursuing the one… [cont.]

A. There are over 20 different universities in London. They range from very academic to not academic at all. Confusingly there is also an entity called 'London University'. The two best (Imperial and LSE) used to be part of London University but have spun out. Look up their requirements on their websites. Then London University has a website that shows the various colleges that belong to it. Each has different requirements, UCL and Kings are the best. Outside these two groups are other universities in London that will be much easier to get into. Google 'universities in London' and take a look!

What are the requirements on becoming a teacher aide in the state of Michigan?
Q. I am planning on going into Special Ed. EI at the secondary level. I do not have a job for the winter and I'm commuting to a University. Does anyone know the job requirements or know of a website that can give me the requirements on becoming a teacher's aide (particularly for a special ed. classroom)? Not only will it give me a job, but it's something that I'm interested in and something that will benefit me for the future.

A. It appears that teachers aides in Michigan need a high school diploma. Here is the Michigan Civil Service Job Description for Teacher's Aides: 'michigan%20teachers%20ai de%20qualifications' BUT, the No Child Left Behind Act has made it a requirement that teacher's aide meet the "highly qualified paraprofessional" standard if they assist with reading, writing or math in a Title 1 school (a school that has a high percentage of children who qualify for Title 1 reading assistance). Highly qualified means you must meet one of the following standards: a. Complete at least 60 hours credit toward a college diploma; or b. Obtain an associate s (or higher) degree; or c. Demonstrate, through a formal academic assessment test, knowledge of… [cont.]

A. For New York State Trooper, you must have at LEAST a degree in criminal justice and then apply to the police academy (it is on the Averill Harriman State office campus in Albany New York) ---I used to work there... and attend the police academy... graduate and then be assigned anywhere throughout the state... you must be at LEAST 25 and I believe the cut off age is 35 but it could be younger now...be in excellent physical condition and health... be proficient in fire arms and pass all required tests while at the academy... For town police or sheriff patrol, the requirements are ABOUT the same... but the training is a little different...also, you must have NO felony's on your record...or prior arrests...

What requirements does a foreigner need to study in a high school in London?
Q. I'm thinking to study the 12th year (the last one of high school) in London. I would like to know if I need to go through some tests to be able to apply. Does anyone know more information about this? Next year I will give the Cambridge test, probably in the Advanced section. Is it enough, or are there still any other requirements for me to join a British school?

A. Year 12 is not the last year of high school (or secondary school as we call it over here). Year 11 is the last year of secondary. Pupils can then either leave school and go to work or some other form of educational institute or they can opt to return to something called the 'Sixth Form' at school in which they spend the next two years, years 12 and 13, to study for their A levels, the exams which are needed to get into university. Studying solely for year 12 wouldn't really be beneficial in the long term. It will not allow you to finish off your high school/secondary school education as it's beyond that level. Also, A levels are much more specialised in that students only take 4 or 5 subjects and so wouldn't get a particularly broad… [cont.]

A. It depends on which country you live in. In US and many other countries in the west, a degree is not a pre-requisite. if you are in India, you can start student pilot licence without a degree too. Some advanced schools do have the requirement of a degree, depending on the sophisticated machine that you want to fly and the relevant educational requirements that you need to understand the basics of engineering and navigation related to actually being able to fly. You have two ways of getting a flying career; enrol into Air Force and become a short service commissioned officer with flying duties; second, begin training in a private flying school.

What are some of the requirements to get into an Ivy League college ?
Q. What are some of the requirements [ Such as grade requirements, SAT results, and extra curricular activities. ] to get into Harvard, Yale, Princeton, or Stanford ?
Asked by Shobana [: - Sat Aug 11 12:35:14 2007 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments

A. First, Stanford's not in the Ivy League. The Ivy League is a set of northeastern schools: Harvard, Yale, Princeton, Brown, Cornell, Columbia, Dartmouth, and U. Pennsylvania. Basically, at that level you'll need excellent everything + something to distinguish yourself from the pack. That means top 10% GPA & SAT, strong and/or unusual ec's, and good letters of recommendation. Of course, if there's something truly unusual about you, those GPA, SAT, and extra-curricular requirements can go out the window. The Ivies and other very prestigious schools just admit who they choose, and having a 4.0+ GPA and perfect SAT is no guarantee of admission.

A. I don't think laws should change. I do however think we should educate our children on what relationships and marriages are really like. I think more focus should be put on the actual marriage instead of on the wedding day, bridal shower and honey moon. Hell at the very least the same amount of time should be put on it.
