What are the chances of Rush Limbaugh moving to California and taking a job at Berkeley?
Q. Do you think Rush Limbaugh would fit in well with the faculty at Berkeley? I know Rush doesn't have a degree, but sometimes people are given honorary teaching positions. If Rush taught at Berkeley, how do you think he'd do?

What is the fastest route during rush hour from Long Beach to the Grapevine?
Q. I'm traveling from Long Beach to Sacramento on Friday, and unfortunately have to leave at 4:30 or 5:00pm, at the peak of rush hour. I want to avoid the majority of traffic jams, if at all possible. I do not have a GPS, iPhone, or other means to check traffic while on the road.
Asked by Jessie - Wed Oct 1 13:33:07 2008 - - 6 Answers - 0 Comments

A. I drive home from Long Beach to Pasadena every single day, and I recommend my route: 605 to 210 to 5. Leave earlier if you can. I actually leave later when I can. The one good thing is that Friday traffic is a little lighter. Pass up the 5 when it first crosses the 605, as that will take you through town, way too crowded. Don't give in to temptation to take the other crossing freeways, such as the 105, the 60, or the 10. Just hang in there all the way to the top, and take that 210! I would not even consider the 710 or the 405. Happy rush hour travels...

Is there a way to induce an adrenaline rush without putting your self, or others, into danger?
Q. I'm doing a report in school about epinephrine, and i was wondering if i was able to induce a genuine adrenaline rush without having to try to hurt myself. I want to be able document the effects with a partner, and not harm anyone.
Asked by asmith_828 - Thu Mar 19 21:05:43 2009 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments

A. Not possible, unless somehow you fake danger and cause it, but no that is hard aswell. Adrenaline is produced mainly during danger for a specific reason. Either to escape or fight the danger. It in spit seconds converts millions of molecules of ADP (adenosine diphosphate - low energy molecule) to ATP (adenosine triphosphate - high energy molecule). The only way to really induce adrenaline is to inject your self with epiphrine, but its a medical drug and you don't have access to it.

Why is Rush the only Republican with the guts to admit that he wants Obama to fail big time?
Q. Every time the media asks some Republican if they want Obama to fail, they hem and haw doublespeak, smile real queasy like and backtrack as fast as they can. Why are so many Republicans afraid to speak the truth like Rush? Of course we as Republicans want Obama to totally fail (just think what would happen to the country). We shouldn't be ashamed of wanting the President of our country to fail big time.
Asked by Keith - Sun Mar 1 20:28:08 2009 - - 14 Answers - 1 Comments

A. Rush doesn't need anybody's vote to make money. Republican politicians can't afford to show their true colors and indifference to the American public so blatantly (as Bush did) if they want to keep their jobs. Besides, if their past misdeeds result in an even deeper depression then they've already caused they want to be able to transfer as much of the blame as possible.

How would the fairness doctrine affect the radio stations Rush is on?
Q. If they are in markets that don't have enough people interested in a liberal talk radio show or there isn't a spot on the line-up? Isn't that going to put an unfair burden and expense on radio stations? And isn't it just a thinly veiled attempt to get Rush off the air? Is this what Obama meant by change? A backdoor way to pull off censorship of opposing views? Whats next mandatory religious programming of ALL religions?

A. It really depends on the organization. Members of the organization usually tell you at the rush, or you were at the official rush, them members most likely invited you and are expecting your app, so you should be comfortable in asking them.

What time is considered rush hour on the ny subway?
Q. Some people are really ticked off that moms bring strollers on the subway during rush hour. I'm taking a trip to manhattan soon, and I just want to know which hours I should avoid the subway. Also, do kids ride the subway free? What ages? Mine are 4 and 1.
Asked by wfmom20s - Sat Jun 13 14:40:32 2009 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments

A. I would say, Monday through Friday, rush hours are 7-10am and 3-6pm, and, you're right, if you don't have to, bringing a stroller onto a crowded NY Subway at those times is really not a good idea. As to whether your kids can ride for free, sure, but do remember the NY Subway and Bus slogan from years ago: "Little enough to ride for free? Little enough to ride your knee!" and try not to take up any extra seats unnecessarily, OK? Good luck, and the link below is to a webpage titled "How to Get on a New York City Subway Car During Rush Hour," which is a definite art unto itself...

Couple of years ago, I tasted the energy drink from an Amway Global distributor and I felt awesome. It was mindblowing. Red Bull has 110 calories and 27 grams sugar and 80% DV B12, that's why u get an instant high but you crash soon. My first flavor that I had tasted was the Electric Lemon Blast from Xs. It had 0 sugar, 2 carbs, 8 calories and 4900% B12. It took about 5 mins for it to take effect. But then it lasted some 5-6 hrs. How does an adrenaline rush help one run faster?
Q. It's for an essay I'm writing ... I think it's because the adrenaline rush makes fermentation go more quickly and therefore makes the muscles stronger, enabling one to push off more strongly and be faster, but I'm not sure. Can anyone shed a little light on the subject, please?
Asked by TheKaitlinster xDD - Mon Oct 5 01:31:44 2009 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments

A. Adrenaline specifically affects the nervous system. It is a hormone that directs the body to increase oxygen and sugar levels in the brain and muscles while limiting non-emergency systems in the body at the same time. In other words, it directs a "fight-or-flight" response. It does this by triggering certain receptors found throughout the body, like on skeletal muscles.

Q. How did the California gold rush miners influence the growth of communities or the demise of communities?
Asked by rdpandas - Fri May 8 18:38:38 2009 - - 5 Answers - 0 Comments

A. Most of the miners that came to California for the gold rush never got rich. Instead they scraped a living by working for mining companies who began buying up claims and opening mines. As these mines opened, the area was usually isolated and mining companies usually provided housing for the men. Some times they grew big enough to from towns and even cities. As soon as the ore body was exhausted, the mine would close and the supporting businesses surrounding would fail as well, people moved out and the town would fail.

Why do people want to rush through life?
Q. I mean, you go to school, and all you think about is, I cant wait till highschool is over! Then when it ends, you hug your friends and cry. Then off to college, ONLY 4 more years until we get out of college!! WOOT!! Then when it ends, you start to think, I am getting old, I want to be back in highschool. Then you get a job. I cant wait till I have enough money to retire. I totally hate work, it sucks. Then you retire, you look at pictures of old friends in your wrinkled pictures of you and your friends from highschool and college. You wake up every day and cherrish every second of your remaining life. Why does everyone want to rush through life?

Can you realistically see the ammo rush ending by this December?
Q. Last week, I actually called Federal Premium over the phone. I spoke to a woman who was in charge of all of the orders nationwide. Basically, she told me that they were back-ordered into the late fall. In other words, they wouldn't be able to complete all of their orders until late fall. Could you realistically see the ammo rush ending by December? Or do you think people will continue to stockpile. Obviously, everyone is stockpiling some ammo, but eventually it will come to an end. 100 rounds doesn't sound like that much. Most people are stocking up on much more than that.

A. The specific geology of California (which I am not very familiar with), has favoured the preservation of alluvial gold. This alluvial gold has probably been derived from host rocks that contain some gold, but not generally in sufficient concentration to be economically exploitable. (There are some diamonds in California however - something few people know about - perhaps during the gold rush, they recovered some alluvial diamonds also.) The gold derived from the host rock is preferentially preserved over the other detritus as these materials fall into stream beds and become washed downstream. Since the gold is so heavy, it therefore resists movement, thus becoming more concentrated. It is probable that there would be small amounts of… [cont.]
