What is the fastest route during rush hour from Long Beach to the Grapevine?
Q. I'm traveling from Long Beach to Sacramento on Friday, and unfortunately have to leave at 4:30 or 5:00pm, at the peak of rush hour. I want to avoid the majority of traffic jams, if at all possible. I do not have a GPS, iPhone, or other means to check traffic while on the road.

A. I drive home from Long Beach to Pasadena every single day, and I recommend my route: 605 to 210 to 5. Leave earlier if you can. I actually leave later when I can. The one good thing is that Friday traffic is a little lighter. Pass up the 5 when it first crosses the 605, as that will take you through town, way too crowded. Don't give in to temptation to take the other crossing freeways, such as the 105, the 60, or the 10. Just hang in there all the way to the top, and take that 210! I would not even consider the 710 or the 405. Happy rush hour travels...

Q. I mean, you go to school, and all you think about is, I cant wait till highschool is over! Then when it ends, you hug your friends and cry. Then off to college, ONLY 4 more years until we get out of college!! WOOT!! Then when it ends, you start to think, I am getting old, I want to be back in highschool. Then you get a job. I cant wait till I have enough money to retire. I totally hate work, it sucks. Then you retire, you look at pictures of old friends in your wrinkled pictures of you and your friends from highschool and college. You wake up every day and cherrish every second of your remaining life. Why does everyone want to rush through life?

Basically, she told me that they were back-ordered into the late fall. In other words, they wouldn't be able to complete all of their orders until late fall. Could you realistically see the ammo rush ending by December? Or do you think people will continue to stockpile. Obviously, everyone is stockpiling some ammo, but eventually it will come to an end. 100 rounds doesn't sound like that much. Most people are stocking up on much more than that.

Q. When im suppose to talk in front of a class I get a head rush. My heart pounds so fast, and I don't notice what im saying. Any tips to help me here? Why does this happen? Is it normal?

What was mined during the California gold rush?
Q. I'm doing an extra credit school project on the Gold Rush, and I need ot state was was mined during that time. I can't find it anywhere online though. Help? Was only gold mined during the Cali gold rush or what? I need to answer this for a science project and can't find my answer anywhere! Help please!!!

A. The specific geology of California (which I am not very familiar with), has favoured the preservation of alluvial gold. This alluvial gold has probably been derived from host rocks that contain some gold, but not generally in sufficient concentration to be economically exploitable. (There are some diamonds in California however - something few people know about - perhaps during the gold rush, they recovered some alluvial diamonds also.) The gold derived from the host rock is preferentially preserved over the other detritus as these materials fall into stream beds and become washed downstream.
